Business NH Magazine offers the distinction to the state’s top privately owned businesses, considering company growth and gross sales. The “Top 100 Private Companies” award is ranked in revenue categories ranging from $15 million to $1 billion+ in sales.

Annual list recognizes the nation’s most successful metal fabricating operations

Momentum Manufacturing Group (MMG), a strategic manufacturing partner to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and product manufacturers across a variety of industries, has been named to The Fabricator Magazine’s 2023 FAB 40 list. This year marks the company’s fourth consecutive year in the top 10, moving up to the number six position from last year’s number seven spot.

With its large work envelope (98.4” x 98.4” x 57.5”) and ability to handle components up to 13,228 lbs., the DMC 210 U is ideal for cost-effectively machining large format parts, such as those found in mobile MRIs and next-generation vacuum chambers. In addition, the machine – one of only three currently in use in the Northeast – offers the following:

MMG has invested over $50 million in new equipment in the last five years to advance its manufacturing business. Little Enterprises in Ipswich, MA, and Evans Industries in Topsfield, MA, have joined MMG, adding 86,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity and nearly 160 skilled team members to the New England-based enterprise. Both companies provide precision metal machining and manufacture components that support wafer fabrication equipment. The acquisitions will enhance MMG’s existing manufacturing operation, which includes ten facilities across New England, and strengthen the company’s focus on the semiconductor market.

Over the last five years, MMG has invested more than $250 million to expand and strengthen its capabilities, including adding aluminum extrusion manufacturing, custom cabling, and greater use of automation and robotic technologies. Significant investments are planned for 2023 to support current and future demand as the semiconductor industry reshores in response to the CHIPS and Science Act, signed into law on August 9, 2022.

The CHIPS and Science Act will dole out $280 billion to improve domestic semiconductor manufacturing and scientific R&D and commercialization, which will have a sizable impact on New England’s innovation economy. According to the Semiconductor Industry Association, semiconductors and machinery used to make semiconductors account for $2.7 billion worth of Massachusetts’ exports — making it the third most valuable export from the Commonwealth.

The company, which manufactures custom aluminum profiles for various industries, is investing $11 million to expand production at its manufacturing facility at 43 Industrial Park Drive in Franklin, NH. The investment includes a $6 million construction project to add 35,000 square feet of manufacturing and logistical support space to the company’s existing 115,000-square-foot facility. Another $5 million will be devoted to new automated handling equipment to support expanded production volumes made possible by a new 2,920 ton, 8-inch extrusion press line that was added as part of phase one’s $14 million investment.
